Intermediate Firmware Engineer

Reach Technologies has an immediate opening for an intermediate firmware engineer to develop our next generation embedded processing framework in concert with our established team of engineers.

Responsibilities

  • • Work within the product development department, developing embedded firmware (including FPGAs) and applications
  • • Support service department by providing exemplary application and technical support to Fortune 500 customers
  • • Support production department with process and test procedure development
  • • Support business development department with technical input on new product opportunities
  • • Support business development department with development of product marketing collateral

Qualifications

  • REQUIRED
    • • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical or Computer)
    • • 5+ years of experience developing firmware for FPGA-based electronics:
      • ∘ Controller development (FPGA)
      • ∘ Device driver development (Linux)
      • ∘ Embedded application development (Linux)
    • • Read and understand hardware schematics
    • • Engineering best practices, processes and standards
    • • Ability to work independently, or with a team
    • • Strong design skills and programming aptitude
    • • Strong organizational skills
    • • Project planning and management
    • • Technical writing
    • • Ability to obtain a Canadian NATO Secret clearance

    • • FPGA Design:
      • ∘ Languages (VHDL, Verilog)
      • ∘ SoC/MPSoC/RFSoC (Zynq-7000, UltraScale+)
      • ∘ IDE (Vivado)
      • ∘ SDK (PetaLinux)
    • • Hardware Design:
      • ∘ Schematic Viewer (Altium)
